Just arrived A2 Bronco Five Star size 44. I thought you had the wrong size but it seems to be fine. I am 1.78 high and I weigh 76 kg.
Sorry for my bad english.

Mate, I don't know what to tell ya.
It's as if they took two pieces of mouton and sewed it together with pink thread then stuck it on the jacket.
The pink stitching is quite literally coming apart and (with it) the mouton is quite literally splitting into two. :(
That is, quite simply, crap. And completely unacceptable. I have had a serious think about ordering from Five Star, but as long as they’re doing stuff like this, forget it. It’s a shame, they have the right idea, but they’re going to have to stamp out this kind of thing. This is grist to the mill of the ‘pay shit, get shit’ brigade who think that if you aren’t paying big money for it, it can’t be any good. I have no doubt Shawn will sort it out, but it shouldn’t be happening in the first place.

Spot on. I especially hate the fact that it fans the flames for those who say “pay shit, get shit”. It’s a good jacket! Leather is superb! But I’ll be damned, they have some truly shocking quality control issues.

1.5 inch separation dead centre in the mouton of my 5* G-1.
I’m growing very weary of these consistent quality control issues.

BUYER BEWARE:
Shawn justified this problem by saying that: "the collar you are looking for is our old stock which we don't currently used and have fresh."
So, because the collar I asked for is old stock, it is justified that I should have such issues?

I've tried very hard to justify Five star. I'm fed up.
There's no excuse for your poor quality jackets.
I'm done with Five Star. Adios, Shawn.

Obviously he took sections of Mouton and pieced them together as a cost savings move . That’s probably been done more times than we realize by jacket makers . The real poke in the eye, is that someone used Pink thread to sew it all together instead of something that would have blended into the color of the collar and not been so obvious. A little thing like that will resonate across the web and really hurt his business . That’s a shame as he has made some pretty notable advances in a short period time .

and still i am highly satisfied with Shawn's and 5Star"s service and ordered another ANJ3

makes 15 jackets in total, 1 helmet bag, 1 sheepskin helmet all from Shawn and his guys without any quality issues

With all due respect, I doubt you've put as much time on any single 1 of your 15 jackets as I have on my single G-1. Time and wear brings out quality issues. Buying 15 and putting them on a rack won't.

I like where Shawn’s going and think he’s come a hell of a way in a short time, but have experienced the quality control issues too. The problems I have encountered have been promptly addressed by Shawn following communication. I wouldn’t have taken kindly to an ‘old stock’ comment though. I may buy again from 5* in the future but am currently back to buying from Eastmans.

With all due respect from my side: it is pretty easy to come up with assumptions about people even though you do not know them ... - but it is pretty dumb to communicate them without knowing that counterpart

You didn't hold back with your assumption bout me so here is mine about you:

i think you are on of those guys considering back and forth whether to order or not to order - shooting questions over questions with extra requirements, having a lot of extra mods on their jackets and finally cry like babies if something goes wrong. And at the end of the day need an audience to let everyone know how disappointed and finally "done" they are with a manufacturer

You name the people from 5Star like "them" - oh man - it ain't a group of terrorists planning to undermine the western world with patched mouton collars

Well buddy - you started it ...

To make that clear: 2 pieces of mouton patched together to make 1 out of it? Obviously you didn't notice before so I'd give no s...t about it as long as they not come apart and show some pink thread. That is absolutely not OK - also not for a 200.- bucks jacket.

I personally experienced customer service at 5Star always as "top notch" - this is what i stated - and i'm sure if someone would have approached Shawn in a proper way he would have properly reacted.

Hilarious.
So, do you really wear each of your 15 individual jackets a lot? Or do they really just sit on a rack? ;)

I´m in no way an expert for leather jackets or a person who knows every detail about every A-2 contractor. I can only say that the pink thread really look disgusting. Also the use of an old collar should not be an excuse for this.
BUT
Ive got (till now) only one jacket (A-2 Dubow)from fivestar and so it gets a lot of wear - and i´ve got no quality problems.

I think that qualtity issues can always happen to any company - it´s about how the company handles the problen AND how often problems occur.
And this forum is a good platform where we can talk about these issues and help eacht other with our expercience.

Peace :)
