Favorite A2 to date

Was able to purchase this A2 recently and the care and creativeness that was put towards it really stands out. One of the more unique back designs I’ve seen. It’s a 44 so fits me perfectly. Anyone able to identify contract? (tag has fallen off)

Originally owned by Samuel Linder who was a Technical Sergaeant in the 483 BG / 840th. Doing some more research on his service now

Anyone able to identify contract from photos?
Hi
I’ve checked some of my books and from what I can see of your jacket it looks to be either an Aero, a Poughkeepsie or a Bronco. I can narrow it down a bit further if you would post a photo of the stitching of the corners of the pockets underneath the flaps.

My best “educated guess” is a Poughkeepsie Leather Co Contract 42-18248p. Your jacket has all of the components of that contract to include large ring snaps, no collar stand, M41 Talon zip gilt plated and very close pocket stitch patterns.
And the epilets run along the shoulder seam.
The only thing that is throwing me off are the pocket flaps which are cut like a DuBow. However , the rest of the components don’t match the DuBow contract .
The Bronco 42-19172p would be the other possibility as your jacket is very similar to that contract as well.
If anyone has a different opinion feel free to weigh in.
Cheers

I’d say one of the Aero contracts but hey I could well be wrong. There’s a few pics but none that clinch it!

As it fits, do you intend to wear it much? Too much history to over wear it IMHO, maybe on the odd occasion like an air show or similar perhaps!

Thanks for replies all. I appreciate the information.

In regards to wearing, yes this will just be unique occasion jacket. Too nice of an example to risk!

Stunning A-2!!!!

The creases on the collar scream "Aero", who must have had an odd method of folding their A-2s for packing , at least 90% of their collars show the same distinctive crease pattern.
The throat hooks, however, look very low for an Aero. The bottom of the RH zip top stitching doesn't look Aero
While the pockets look like pre 1942 Aeros but there's no collar stand?

Waters (well and truely) muddied

Looks like an Aero to me judging by the extra line of stitching that would run from the top right corner
of label up to the collar. Label is missing but the extra stitch line is still there. I may be wrong but i think only Aero did this line of stitching?
