The unboxing. It may be tedious to some, but I’ve been waiting three months for this bad boy! Actually, it’s been over three months since I first ordered jackets from other makers, ELC was lighting fast, in comparison. But I did send back the first one and had it remade with extra-long arms:

Huge shoutout to David, who was extremely helpful the whole time, and even wrote the order out to my grandfather, Lt. Col. Fred Wright, a B-24 pilot for the Mighty Eighth out of Horsham St. Faith. :) More to come...

The measurements are as follows: chest - 24”, back - 28”, sleeve - 28”, shoulders - 19” and change, maybe 20” stretched. The back feels so much shorter than that on, I was surprised.

I also measured the space between the pockets, as it matters to some, at 6 3/4”. And the collar is just over 3” long to the point.

It is a good fit on me, with a few specific exceptions that may change as I wear the jacket. The sleeves feel perfect by my sides, but ride up to where they’ll probably go when the wrinkles settle in down the road, and the length feels short to me, but that could simply be the A-2 fit and the knits: they are much tighter and more robust than my last ELC.

Also, the collar seems huge on me — like an airlplane neck-pillow on a child — buy I’m hoping that changes with wear. Maybe I have a skinny neck? I’m 6’4”, 208 lbs, and I wear a 17-inch collar in dress shirts. It does, of course, have a collar stand as it is a RW.

The leather is beautiful, of course. The zip is annoying to operate, as it sticks a lot.

Here are some selfies of me wearing it right after the unboxing, though it’s a bit hot to wear a jacket outside in Berlin right now. I’m trying to break it in by playing Call of Duty very physically, and tonight I’ll go to a restaurant with AC and gesture wildly during dinner. Any other tips to break it in? No HWT.

the wife came home while I was doing this and told me my pants are too high and the legs are too wide. “Jose Enrique wouldn’t wear pants like that!” :p she reads the forum over my shoulder and is a fan of that dude

Wear the hell out of it now. I think the lengths are good, better that than too short. The sleeves will ease up a bit over time.
Lift your arms, get those creases developing under pits, that's important to the wear-in, so the jacket starts loosening up.
There's a way to play with the ELC RW collars, to get them to ease up, its hard to explain lol.... but don't over do anything artificial.

That hide looks goooooooood! Great work.

Might have to give those gestures a workout for my gear.

Wife's a fan you say? Hmmmm ;)
