Finally got around to restoring the Church I have had packed away for 15 yrs. Someone had installed a quilted liner in the 50’s-60’s. Complete disassembly & restitch, new liner, spec tag & collar fur, NOS knits I’ve been saving & a NOS Talon zip

I am not sure: 1) Is the collar fur color right ? 2) 422a seems use brass Talon zip

Collar fur does look almost black in the pics. It’s a dark chestnut brown. Nickel Talon zips were pretty much used on the majority of M-422a’s originally, at least what I have had them here with the original zips. Think as the war progressed, anything was used as long as it worked. Have seen numerous AN-J series jackets with brass & blackened brass zips.

Incredible job .... disassemble and reassemble the jacket.

Sumptuously!

May I ask, to what Mil specifications G-1 were used single-layer rib-back waistband? My LW Foster MIL-J-7823(AER) 1956 has it and I also see it on more late MIL-J-7823C (WEP) and may be partly -D series ?
Obviously on late MIL-J-7823E(AS) there was 2-layer waistband without rib-back.

Great work, although a bit disturbing to see it at the stage it was cut down to the individual parts!

The Bi-Weave Knits ended during the "C-Wep" specification. No D series jackets should have them. Could have been a few that slipped through at the start of the spec. but I have never seen them on any jacket beyond the "C" series.

Wow, that’s really amazing, a full disassembly then assembly, seriously impressive
I’m just getting into leather work, my goal is to get a couple leather sewing machines
And try my hands at making some things.
