Get a CWU-45 if you the cool weather version. Either one will fit like a balloon with puffy sleeves.

45's are good cool weather jackets. Very blousy fit unless you buy smaller. V shaped.
I love my 45, but got a 36 on the way for TG2

Nice job! What's the best source to get a CWU36? How warm are these?
Thanks
36p should be used on spring/summer
45 on winter but it don’t have the same overall light look like in the movie
I find it in mint condition on Depop...but eBay is a great source if you look carefully and ask many question before buying.
You have also sometimes good stuff on Vinted.fr
Here is a large one 42-44 in mint condition for only 35€ !

I can't seem to find a list of legit CWU36p and 45p manufacturers who had/have government contracts.

I agree.
In the 5th picture (TC walking) you'll notice nothing that makes it stand out as a special edition. The sleeves are too long for Tom, but that's actually good when riding a bike as seen in the 6th picture.
Different manufacturers, different cuts.

my 36 was a mint find on the bay, one from 1977. The 36's are a much nicer fit IMO. I'm sure Cruise's was tailored but the 36 does fit well in general for cold weather I would wear the 36 with layers, still less bulky than the 45 IMO

Pretty sure it’s not tailored as you can noticed in this enclosed picture it’s short like a genuine 36. Also think that Tom wears a small version that is less v-taper...

The jacket on Tom in the photos posted above fits the way mine fit me. The 36/P jackets I have aren't particularly puffy, certainly not like the 45/P or nylon MA1 etc.

Mine still has some elasticity in the knits, which his does not. That creates some puffiness in the back of the body. Also mine is super puffy in the sleeves. Thom’s sleeves are quite skinny, or he just fills them with muscle better than I do.

I have a 95 Orchard.

I have a 95 Valley Apparel.

I iron the lower back just before the waistband & it remove the puffy look looks like TC (mine is a creative apparel)
