Coastal Command Irvin's

Did you prefer the coastal command version for any particular reason other than the hood?
i always wanted a shearling jacket and also thought of the US versions, but i don't like some details that much. The Irvins are better there. and the yellow hood does not make the jacket commonplace. In short: I liked it best of all in the pictures ;)

I think you made a good choice !
And if you sent Aero your measurements you did a great job of that as well . Fits nicely .

I like it more today than yesterday . ;)
I don’t know if you’re aware of it, but there’s a way to roll the hood under and into itself that makes the hood look like a regular collar.
I saw that in a photo somewhere. I'll have to experiment a bit more :)

I think Aero have raised their Irvin game big time. That really does look like an issued jacket in new condition. I wouldn’t go for the hood myself, but it doesn’t detract from it, and if you’re ever shot down in the channel I’m sure it will go well for you!

That’s a fine jacket. And for what it’s worth I like the hood and the detailing. If the WAAF’s wearing them on Aero’s website turn up with their Airspeed Oxford to rescue you if you have to ditch then things will be looking up.
