Civi AN-J-3 By FiveStar

Thank you all for your kind words. Except for the collar I asked Shawn to copy verbatim the BR jacket I had sent to him. The BR is one of the best fitting, most comfortable jackets in my collection, and I am more than pleased with the outcome of this AN-J-3. The distressed buffalo leather is extraordinary. For anyone who prefers a thick, weighty, yet soft and supple leather, I would recommend it wholeheartedly. As for a specific
contract Brett, all the lowdown on the William Gibson G-1 is available on the HPA website, but no mention is made of an original contract source, except to say that it is a copy of spec. 7823 from 1950. When comparing it to original spec G-1s, it appears that the mouton collar is a little larger and it is a little roomier through the midriff. Also the sleeves may be larger in diameter at the cuff.

hi Gary
Does it have the button up throat strap under the collar, like a G-1...? Great fit by the way. Well done.

Ok...

just received 5* A-N-J3. Based on the fact that @Shawn Ali had done such a good job for @Garylafortuna who already owns a BR G-1to compare.

The leather is phenomenal. I tried to set up the lighting in the front room/studio without assistance so bare with the background shadows it’s the jacket leather I wanted to capture. I went with a size 40 but adjusted the shoulders to 19”

The other measurements remained the same. The jacket is trim around the waist I am 5’8” 170lbs. The length is perfect for me.

Chest is tiny bit looser, all round I am happy with the fit. The cuffs feel like a woolen mix no seam and feel thick and sturdy the length is great too. The collar fits me better than my 40 ELC G-1 which is a bit tight. I like wearing the collar buttoned up...
Overall for the build & leather a 3 week turnaround and great price I am really happy. Will be ordering another in time.
Excellent work @Shawn Ali, you have done a great job on this Thankyou.

Personally I think this has turned out well because 5* had a top tier jacket physically to pattern from. The colour/ texture variation really looks good. An A2 in this leather would be great.
ONLY, if someone sent @Shawn Ali an A2 so he could physically touch see and measure.
To make jackets with just measurements is difficult IMO...
