Big fan of Bronson and they just released the U.S.N. N-3 Utility Shirt. $55.99
Now, I'm more of an AAF kind of guy but I'm a sucker for any long sleeve Olive Drab shirt and this one is nice!

with promo code BRONSON the total with shipping for me is $60.19. my last order from them took a touch over a month so I should have fit pics sometime early October...

The N-3 utility shirt was part of a 4-piece uniform issued to U.S Navy ground personnel. This uniform consists of N-3 HBT Jacket, N-3 HBT Pants, N-3 Shirt, and an HBT Cap. Recipients of the N-3 utility uniform included shore parties, construction battalions, amphibious units, combat, and security units. This shirt is made from 6.5 oz. plain cotton fabric in olive drab color #7(OD-7). (July 1943 to April 1945.)
  1. 6.5 oz. plain cotton fabric, 100% cotton, made in Japan

During WWII the design of the N-3 shirt was taken directly from the pattern of the blue chambray shirt. This was a logical choice by the Navy as it took advantage of an existing successful design while avoiding the expense of drawing up a new pattern and industry having to reorganize for a new design.Variations were minor and are attributed to manufacturer differences in the shaping of the bottom of the pockets, with some having a pointed bottom while others are rounded. As with most items variation can be found in the color of the buttons.
Bronson chose to replicate a manufacturer's version with the rounded bottom of the patch pocket.
(If I'm not mistaken I believe Bronson manufactured the N-3 with the pointed bottom patch pockets for The Real McCoys.)

agree - rally loving Bronson since I purchased one of their B-15's direct so now I am on their email list. They do a great job with these as they release new things. Shipping direct from China was quick. Great stuff for MUCH less than BR, etc.

FWIW, original USN green Seabee's shirts were made from a beautiful fine HBT material, used green cat eye buttons and the designation spec stamped Nx SX in black in the collar. Just my opinion, but another cheapo repo that doesn't get the details right. Also, isn't Bronson made in China, not Japan?

They usually provide nice photos, but after I bought their OG-107 utility pants a year ago and was completely disappointed with the quality and accuracy, I don’t want to buy anything from them anymore.
However, their early B-15A was not bad after some upgrade on my part (zip puller and something else). But this is perhaps the first and last thing I bought from them.
This only my personal expirience.

a lot of their items are "inspired by" not meaning to be total 10000% accurate repros. they also do use lesser materials to keep the costs down. Yes, most of their stuff is made in China.

Can’t speak to the quality of the items discussed, but there are several Bronson products that are part of my regular wardrobe. Their Gurkha pants are well-made using a nice fabric, I love their 260 g ringspun t-shirts, and their denim is in the same ballpark of quality and price as the more affordable selvage companies like Brave Star or Gustin, but with more vintage fits than either of them.

Exactly. I’m not a reenactor and I’m just wanting a good nod to the WWII era vintage style and colors and Bronson quality is really good so far in my opinion from what I’ve purchased… nothing cheaply made. I’ve got two pair of their 1942 army style chinos and couple of their tube style “Non-Stock” brand T-shirts and I love them. Heavy thick strong and they’re very well made. Their chinos have a slightly more modern cut which is what I preferred because I have vintage pants and I don’t wear them in public because I don’t wanna wear high waisted pants above my bellybutton! LOL! Makes me look like pee wee Herman! this shirt turned me on because it just has that vintage look and I’m all about olive drab! LOL! If I was looking for authentic World War II military accuracy I would look elsewhere… This is just every day clothes for me to wear outside in the era inspired style I want to wear and a better price than what you find at many of the other places like WW II impressions, Eastman, the Real Mccoys or Buzz Rickson’s etc. and I don’t care if this shirt has cat’s-eye buttons or not. Its not about that for me. I’m not trying to get a Navy impression going. Real Mccoys wants $259.32 plus shipping For the exact same shirt!!! Same materials albeit with the correct buttons. LOL!

Only took 11 days to get here this time. I love this U.S.N. N-3 Utility inspired shirt! I'm 5"10, 155 to 160 lbs, small frame wearing a size 40. It fits great and comfortably! I'm wearing a Bronson "Non Stock" 9 oz. cotton Tubular "Embryo" T-Shirt underneath and mixing Army and Navy here by pairing with the Bronson US Army 1942 Model Chino Trousers.

I have a 15oz jeans (the cheap one) ..it’s perfect ..wear it day by day and imagine I have 2-3 5time the price wore once each
Also have the 1947 hbt fatigue ..super wide for my “taste”
Does the 1942 have tapered legs or is straight?
