The first MA-1's came out in 1955 so too late for Korea. However the 39th FIS moved to Japan after the armistice and began flying the F-94 Starfire interceptor for air defense missions. They stayed in Japan until being inactivated in December 1957.

Here are two lovely period patches from Eric's USAF Patches website. Note the construction, the lack of computer guided sewing machines gave each patch more character than modern ones.
