Hi I am repairing a usaf sateen black label the od 509 the one before the od 107
It quite clearly had some patches which have been removed the man I brought it off gets usaf form one of the bases in uk
I have the liner as well
The question I have is what rank would were the field coat of this era
I have a large collection of the bule rank and tapes and would like to restoration to be as authentic as possible
There are no shadow of strips on the arms so were would the rank be placed?
Patch wise it had one on each pocket which seems to be unusual?
Would greatly appreciate any help or photos
Thanks
Baz

Yep like that one have 2 one white label from 1962 which like this one had Chevron on arms
The earlier one has no evidence of Chevrons so I was wondering if the rank were on the collar as there is shading that looks like the lieutenant rank was there
Were they just for ground crew etc or did officer wear them,?
