Any thoughts on this jacket?

Vintage Leather Bomber Jacket

Don't think this is an A-2 and perhaps not even a military jacket, maybe just a bomber style motorcycle jacket. Then again the Army Green inside the pocket flap made me think it was worth asking about the jacket. It was my husband's and I believe he got it as a used jacket in the early 70s.

I would appreciate any information or thoughts on this jacket.

It is neither an A-2 or a military jacket, it is civilian. Check this really nice original WWII A-2 for sale on ebay.

Notice all the difference between this and the jacket you have.

No side entry pockets, a one piece back without seams, no button at the bottom of the zipper, etc.

Everyone on these boards has pretty much all the answers you'll need, so feel free to ask.

Cheers,

Looks like a Schott brand jacket from the late 1960's or early 1970's. I have a Schott I-S-674-M-S that is very similar except the front pocket design is different, the pocket flaps have snaps as do the epaulettes.
Schott used that quilted brown lining, which mine has as well.
That jacket is pretty beat up, or you could say it has gained a lot of character.....

There is a Schott on eBay exactly like mine:

These are very common jackets on eBay, and are usually sold in the "vintage" category of mens leather jackets.
Schott is a very tough jacket, my dad bought me one for Christmas in 1976 and I still have it, although it's wayyyyy tooooooo small. Still in excellent condition, too. Next year it will fit one of my kids..
