Hi all,
would any of the knowledgeable folk on here have any evidence of the AN-6552 flight jacket being used by the Army Air Corps in WWII? Or were they only issued to Navy pilots?

From what I've read, this 1944 contract was intended for both Army Air Force and USN air crew, hence the AN designation / US stencil under the collar. That said, the majority of surviving examples I've seen photos of were issued to USN aviators, but do recall seeing photos of a 23rd FG and CBI issued AN6552's. Hope that helps!

Thanks Grant, I’ve trawled the net and as you said find only Navy aviator use.I’ll keep trying and maybe something will turn up.
