air transport trench coat

I ran across a leather "air transport" trench coat. I believe that's what the nom tag read.

Looked to be all horsehide, alpaca lined with a mutton collar...

Anyone have one? Are they worth picking up?

It was a size 42 which would almost fit me...

Super heavy coat. Were they WWII or before?

There's the M-69 transport coat from the 1940's, that's long, and belted?

We've discussed before, but it doesn't bring big money ... it's not a style that many want to wear.

They're beautifully made, fabulous jackets-but IMHO nobody in real life looks like anything but a prize pillock in a long leather coat of any description. In films, yes, in real life, no. Cue a load of pics of people trying to prove that they are cool enough to pull it off!

yes, it's awfully big, bulky and screams "hey Look At Me!"

But it sure looks warm. If I didn't live in LA and on a farm somewhere where it's cold it'd be a great barn coat...
