Acrylic paint on zipper tape?

Has anyone tried color matching the tape on their favorite zipper with acrylic fabric paint?
How does the paint take? Does it wear well over time?

I've had good results with acrylics on canvas (Vans shoes) but never tried it on polyester or near moving parts.

I would use fabric specific paints like Createx. its water based and can be thinned down as much as you need and the pigment is specifically for cotton/polyester

usually needs to be heat set so a hair blow dryer might be helpful but for your application it may not need it
