A1 Extreme Cold Weather Jacket

Does anyone here have practical experience with this jacket?
I'm considering it taking a boat out for about four hours on a canal in rainy weather and fairly strong winds in temperatures just above freezing.

They are crap. Go for the A2 version. I’ve had one for 30 years. Incredibly warm. Can’t wear it out no matter how hard i wear it. UK weather i just need a scarf for my neck and a t-shirt under the jacket. Not itchy at all. Massively underrated & overlooked.

This one you mean? It's water repellent but not water proof, it would require wearing a rain jacket over it, wouldn't it?
Guess my old Northface will have to go through some abuse once again...

You can wash the A2 in a waterproofing compound - although it is shower proof - but the nylon crisp/potato chip packet jacket will have you wet with sweat and still leak like a sieve :)
