Headed to Italy today !
Questions 1
Anyone know of any Eastman dealers there ?

Question 2
When it comes to Aero Leather A-2
What’s your favorite contract, and why ?
I’m having trouble figuring out the differences between them all. I know I like dark brown with the reddish/rust knits as well as the mustardish called knits. I like I trim nice fit in the mid section, shoulders, and sleeves.
Any advice is greatly appreciated. Would like to make a custom order soon.

No sorry

Question 2
I like the aero 21996 contract
It has a trim fit and the dark seal with red rust knits looks pretty cool in my opinion.

How come I don’t see it on there website ?
I think the closest Aero offers is their 42-15142P contract which is fairly close to the Aero 21996. I took a picture of my 42-15142p so you can see if you like it.
Cheers

1. Can't help.

2. I can't do a comparison for you as I only own one, but I can tell you the one A2 I own is just the best most beautiful flattering leather jacket I have ever had.

It is the horse hide 38-1711 P (pre war-design) contract from Aero Leathers, it is a trim fitting, relatively short fit with the early offset collar design which I think is beautiful, smaller pockets and slimmer epulettes. I understand historically it is very accurate. The horse hide is thick and hard waring, the workmanship superb. In seal brown with rust knits it is, I have been informed, in its most commonly seen original colour combo - it looks beautiful. It's breaking in great. I intend to own this for the rest of my life.

I'm 5ft 8.5ins, 12st 5lbs, wearing a size 44... I got mine from the Aero sale page for £550. I was lucky to find this in my size and preferred colours - custom made they are £635.

Edit: They've gone up to £650, but are still a fraction of the price of similar jackets from other well known producers.

Happy hunting!

Nice looking Aero Geoff!
Thank you, kind sir! Needless to say it is the love of my life at the moment, and it does seem to be attracting some glances in my general direction, which I know must be directed at my A2 rather than any non-existent good looks of my own. For me the 38-1711 is the most beautiful of them all...

That's a grand Aero Geoff. The early contract pre war Aeros are the best of the best with the collar stand and the strip of leather lining protector running down behind the zipper. One of my all-time favorites.

Thanks ever so much Garylafortuna - I didn't really get the chance to take a detailed pic of the collar on the train today, but I'm in the hotel room now, so here you are + one of the zipper you so kindly mention. That collar gives the 38-1711-P a real touch of the dandy when it's 3/4s zipped- I just love it, thank you!

P.S. Appols for the upside down nature of the pics, I'm working off my phone [emoji5]
