You'll see the difficulty in identifying A-2 jacket color- except for some super "russet" Dubows...

Also- watch the scenes with planes other than The Belle or with ordinary life at the base or with German fighters or flak- to me it shows the inscrutability of the past- the gigantic nature of that war and the complete misunderstanding of it today...

I think The Cold Blue used some of this. Great film if you haven't seen it, silent archival footage with voice over narration by 8th AF vets. Lots of flight jackets to be seen in actual use, too.

Thanks Dave and THANKS to John for posting all of the out take reels of Wyler's documentary. Since these are raw dailies, the film has not been color corrected so you can't really judge the colors of jackets, etc., but it's still very cool to see what they went through.

In some photos he has a Dubow but the really cool jacket he wears in debriefing scenes and in most photos is a mystery. I always thought it was an Aero but now I’m not sure.
