Leipzig 1945.

Geez. Upon seeing the pictures in the previous post, I was jolted right back to the time when, as a kid leafing through my dad's collection of Life magazine issues, I came across those very pictures. Powerful stuff. It had to be Capa.

Same here, as a kid I was glued to my dads Life books full of images of war, NASA... The one on Vietnam in color really hit me with a reality check at a young age.

To me Mr. Capa is in a special league of freelance photographers. His images are worth a thousand words, nothing to add here.

I knew I had seen them before but chemo brain and old age meant I could not place where. Some of the images from Vietnam that were featured in the colour supplements here at the time had similar impact, likewise some from the "troubles in N Ireland on our own doorstep at the time too.

Thanks for that. I recognize that I'm way over the top sometimes- maybe I should try to "keep my fingers off the keyboard" more!:)

No need for that Jeff, as Vic says existing in an echo chamber or filter bubble where everyone agrees about everything is neither productive or healthy. Besides, you occasionally remind of Monty Python's Black Knight... and I mean that kindly and in good humour ;)

Actually one of my favorite characters from one of my favorite movies. Or Daffy Duck- my wife says so...

Here's an interesting jacket worn by David Carradine in FAST CHARLIE, THE MOONBEAM RIDER. Appears to be an AN-J3, or variant of, with an A-2 type windflap but no epaulettes, and with snaps replacing the zipper.

Actor James Murray isn't well-remembered today, but he was briefly a star. Here's an interesting jacket we see him wearing in the 1933 AIR HOSTESS; I was going to do a screen grab but these lobby cards seem to show it off pretty well. The very same jacket would reappear on screen 2 years later the same director's AIR HAWKS.
