Air Crew maps value

I have a chance to purchase these air crew maps with the original case and pocket compass. Unfortunately, the saw blade is missing, but both maps have never been unfolded all the way, only to the point that you see them in the attached picture.

Any help on the value is appreciated.

Those are some very cool items. I’ve never seen a set before but they look to be in great condition.

A "C/D & E/F" combination recently sold on eBay on Nov 13, 2018 for $350 but it did not have the compass or the saw blade....before that another C/D E/f Combo with compass and blade sold for almost twice that a few months ago.
I purchased my C/D only map pouch without compass and blade in august for $215.62 but I already had a compass that looks just like yours. they seem to come up on eBay often lately. I've seen about 6 come up in the past 5 months and they always seem to go for between $200 and $600. These CD EF ETO maps are the most desirable of all the escape/evasion maps. the CBI are common and very few sell but the Germany/France ones always attract attention. Everyone wants what the Mighty 8th had LOL!

by the way the loose rayon threads is normal and original condition as these were made with no edge finishing. If you do unfold them the creases (which have been there for 75 years and won't go away) will guide you on how to refold it. believe it or not there are some people out there that steam iron them flat for display! :mad:

the maps are so detailed and the print so tiny. I can't imagine being able to actually figure much out other than get your bearings, figure out what cities to avoid and where the rivers are... then pic a direction with lots of trees and go! lol! I'm sure very few downed airmen actually used these maps during the war. most were captured immediately due to a falling parachute being easily spotted by SS troops. I think Airborne probably got more use of them than the AAF
