LW uses incredibly robust leather. I have a goatskin trainee-made A-2 I bought from LW's sale page over 17 years ago and it still looks the same - that may or may not be a good thing for some!
WOW! The fit and blousing around the waist looks just like LW Dubow A-2. The only difference is the wonky box stitching on the hang tab LOL, hence why it was a NOS factory second (don't laugh, it was my first real-deal A-2).

I soaked the sleeves in hot water and pulled, taking care not to grip the lining and the seams.
The G-1 I ordered was the 55J14 based on a Buzz Rickson 55J14. From what pics I can find on the Internet, it seems those jackets had slightly wider pockets too. Don't care though LOL.
My jacket is already in country and should arrive this week. I followed Shawn's sizing diagram with measurements based on my well - fitting LW A-2. If these preview pics are any indication, my G-1 should be spot on.
