Hi - I'm very close to your size (an inch shorter, a few pounds heavier) and have a 1970 Star Sportswear and 1971 Brill Bros. G-1, both size 42, and they fit me perfectly. Based on your info, I think a size 42 would be about right.
I agree with others. I'm pretty sure you have either a Brill Brothers or a Ralph Edwards cowhide jacket, issued in the mid- to late 70's or early '80s. . It's a nice, genuine issue G-1, which will last forever if you give it reasonable care.
I agree with the others - wash it. I've washed three of my vintage G-1 jackets, with great results. One smelled very badly, most likely from a smoker's home. I washed all thee jackets separately in a front-loading washing machine, on gentle cycle. Don't use a top-loading machine, as the agitator...
