Good wear cow hide

Hey gang,
It looks like I might be getting a good wear after all. I had an email from JC saying he had an original size 52 Dubow he was able to analyze and thinks that it would fit me. But due to the size of his horse hides I’m most likely limited to cow. So, if anyone has a GW in cow, would you kindly post pictures. I know there’s a million good wear posts/pics but I’m not keen on digging through them to find the odd cow hide ones. Thank you all in advance!

There’s very little difference in the outward appearance between JCs Cow and Horsehide. And actually the cow is a bit softer and drapes nicely right out of the box . Here’s a DuBow in cow that I have . Check it out .

I have a Pancho Barnes jacket made in cowhide by John:

My impression of it is that it's a bit heavier than the stuff John uses on his A-2 jackets, and it just feels different than the kind of leather most manufacturers use for flight jackets. That's a result of how it was finished, however, rather than any innate qualities of cowhide.

If you're looking to see some GW cowhide A-2 jackets, John has a whole folder of test jackets he made using Badalassi cowhide (really some of the nicest cowhide around - basically the Shinki of cowhide): https://www.goodwearleather.com/photos/Badalassi_Cowhide/

I’m not worried about the hide, any of GWs leather is going to be excellent. To be honest I kind of prefer slightly thicker hide. And that’s a brilliant Dubow, it almost exactly what I pictured in my mind of what jacket I would like. Mid brown knits are the only difference in what I would choose.

I have a russet cowhide "Cable no name" A-2 from Mark Fisher and mirrors the RW posted above.
The cowhide drapes splendidly and looks quite similar to WW-2 A-2 photos, in my opinion
The no name can be seen on Mark's website.

Regards,
Don

Also waiting on a one-off Star 55J14 in (historically indirect) cowhide. Seller said it was a great leather. It’s been in transit from Europe now for 2 months. Starting to get worried.

Forgive my ignorance, Mark Fisher?

Do you have a link to his website?
