What jacket(s) are you wearing at the moment?

Well, it’s 75 (24 c) already this morning, so too hot for jackets. Natalie and I are settling for some of the other stuff this hobby has gotten us into:
SMW P-41 trousers and a Standard & Strange quarantine sukajan t-shirt.

Natalie’s got on a pair of 50s-style jeans and a vintage-style blouse.

In the past 1.5 years I didn’t wear any jackets, only occasionally my L-2a and my AVI M422a. Today I finally put on my BK 27752. I was blown away by how much stiffer horsehide is compared to goat, and how ‘user-unfriendly’ A-2s are compared to their Navy cousins. Still, it felt great!:) I may give it a treatment of Eastman Liquid leather.

Don't Greg, it doesn't and it won't need it. Jackets really don't need conditioning unless they're old, as in at least a couple of decades.

Just wear the shit out of it and wear it in those monsoons that hit around your neck of the woods.

You're biggest enemy in the tropics is mould due to the humidity level so make sure that that A-2 gets lots of fresh air and occasional bouts of sunshine and doesn't live in a wardrobe all the time where it can fester. Wiping it down every few months with highly diluted vinegar will help too.

@Smithy I’m back in europe for the summer, not planning to bring anything leather to Indo. Molding is a way bigger problem there than I ever thought. Although it’s summer here I’m gonna try to log some hours wearing my BK.

Do it Greg. Not too much bother over summer in Europe but be very careful when you have anything leather back in Indo. Mould will develop unbelievably quickly in the tropics on leather due to the humidity level.

A wipe down with a very highly diluted vinegar solution is a really good idea. Do it with your boots too.

Jan, I'm surprised it's so warm there. It was 62° F in NE Illinois at noon today and almost put on an A-2 -- but I didn't want to look like the neighborhood woosie. ;)

Looking at 90s by Tuesday though, but low 70s again next Saturday. Global Warming at its unpredictable finest.

Have not snaffled anything from Japan in a while.

Newly purchased overnight.

Never stop never stopping the jacket buys!

A nice 23380 by The Few. Have never had anything from these guys. As usual, the hide and colour did it...

Great price too. 'PayPal in 4' will allow for some more of the higher priced Yahoo Japan listings in the near future...
