Hello to everyone!
In your opinion, wich is the best Eastman A2 original maker repro? Wich is, in other words, the most near to original contract? Because for exemple, I understood by some opinion of you that RW collar is not same as original, is it?

Thanks!

Bg, I wouldn’t let yourself be dissuaded by our opinions over in the other thread. As I’m occasionally reminded by a good friend, this is an opinions forum. We ALL have our disagreements about things like accuracy and jacket makers. If you’ve decided you want to buy from Eastman and you like their Rough Wears, then you should get an Eastman Rough Wear.

Hello, yes you are right. My dream would be a GW but I don’t want to wait so much time, I like RW ELC but In fact I found the collar too much big. If you see it there is no balance between collare and the jacket. GW has more proportion imo

That's fair! :) If you're considering other options, I agree with Vic (Silver Surfer) that the Werber is really good. It's also very different from a Rough Wear, so if you ever decide to get a Rough Wear, you'll be less likely to feel like you're getting a clone of a jacket you already have. Plus, the hookless talon zipper on the Werber is so damn cool.

If money is no problem here, my advice would be to put down a deposit ($200) on a GW Rough Wear in seal and buy the Eastman Werber. You'll end up with two very different jackets, and you can focus on enjoying the Werber while you wait (and save up money) for the Rough Wear.

Agree with all of the above.
What size jacket do you wear?
There may be some here who have what you’re looking for and would be willing to offer you an Eastman or Good Wear at a savings .

I love the used Eastman Monarch I picked up a few months back, also my escape Roughwear I got years ago. Not sure of the tag number in it, I am at work. Bought and sold so many over the years as my weight went up and down, but always loved the quality of the eastman jackets, as well as their D1 and B6 and B3s I've had or still have, just hard to pull the money out for a new one, but have my eye on their Dubow. I have the long torso syndrome so some styles just dont do it for me.

Wich are the main differences between Werner and RW 1401? I love short jackets, this is why I was looking for RW
Either jacket is a short jacket as they are both A2’s . The subtle differences are in the shapes of the collars , the pockets, the pocket flaps, and the overall fit of each jacket with respect to your body and your preferences of what you’re looking for in a fit.

The Werber is cut longer in length and a little fuller in the chest than the 1401. If you're ordering in the US, reach out to Charles at History Preservation Associates for sizing deets. He's been selling Eastman jackets for years and knows his stuff.

Figured some measurements might be helpful...

I've never had the chance to try on an pre-war original Werber, but my original 1401p fit much like the Eastman.
I'd like to say that's encouraging for ELC, but if you look at the 27752 I posted over in the comparison thread, it was labeled a 44 but was more modern 46.

Now, I bought it off eBay many years ago, not direct from ELC or HPA, so the original owner could have ordered a custom size (I did with my own 1401), but there always seems a lot of variables with jackets -- original as well as repro.
