What jacket(s) are you wearing at the moment?

There are jackets you order and wait for...

There are jackets you buy on a splurge...

There are jackets you have to have...

And there are jackets you earn..

Normally it takes a young subaltern at least 18 months of work at Royal Military College - Duntroon. Or four years with the Degree pathway through the Australian Defence Force Academy. It took me 30 years after first enlisting..

At $700 you would think they could get the lacing right?

I was wondering who got that one! Congrats on the purchase!
Thanks! I have been hoping for a GW A-1 for such a long time.
Here is another photo that makes the leather look more brown than IRL. True color is somewhere between this one and the fit pic. But the grain does show well here.

A rather unconventional “jacket” (It has sleeves and a zipper, and is worn over clothing, so I’m insisting it’s a jacket) worn by @mulceber yesterday! Feeling very proud of him! He actually graduated two years ago, but COVID delayed the ceremony until this year.

Congratulations on your accomplishment. Well done! Best wishes on your future endeavors.

John, colors beside you did well on that GW A-1 as it looks good on you!

Nice cut and style for sure!

Dany
Thanks, Dany! I can't really imagine the cut being much better. I asked John if he thought it would be a good fit for me, as I always do. There have been quite a few test jackets that he has recommended that I don't buy on that basis. Definitely lucked out on this one.

I looked at the color accuracy for the leather on the GW sales page. I think his photos are closer, but this shade is hard to capture.

John,

Well good job on avoiding a fit issue, that we all dread. But with your experience I am not surprise.

The A-1 cut/style is the epitome of the 30's rider (any ride) look! I think I would have to acquire one if I had a pre 40's vintage motorbike... But I do ride a 1934 CCM double bar bike... hummm ;)

Nice P44 shirt that looks very well made! Once it starts to wear, Buzz HBT looks very realistic and a bit like jeans it gets better. I have a shirt and two pairs of trousers in HBT from Buzz that are becoming softer and nicer with wear.
