Pike brothers 1954 Utility in what is now faded black, personally I wouldn't call it a shirt but what do I know. I'm very often wearing one of these as I really like them so have several.

Chambray. From the time I was in my later teens til now, chambray. The ones made a year or two ago by j crew, and yes Uniqlo are still available new or in gently used condition for under $20. Are they “true” vintage? No, but they server their purpose. Oh, I have some buzz chambrays too. They are dead on for us navy chambrays, but they cost $75-$120.

Indeed. Blokes wearing jackets (and telling each other how good they look in them) is fine, but blokes wearing shirts is weird? It’s a natural progression, we’ve had jeans to wear with your flight jacket, watches to wear with your flight jacket, boots to wear with your flight jacket, sunglasses to wear with your flight jacket (that was mine!), hats to wear with your flight jacket, why not shirts? I was thinking of doing an underpants to wear with your flight jacket thread-but I thought better of it. :D

That Uniqlo shirts looks great. It looks amazingly close to my vintage 1950s Big Mac. My only problem with Uniqlo is that sometimes the fabrics don't hold up very well with washing.
A lot of the top tier are lovely but I generally don’t like vintage style shirts. Uniqlo have made these shirts with extra bar tacking at stress points. Safe for a Taxi, maybe not on a Warship Carrier.

I kid you not, they are as good fabric and construction wise as just about any other production. Chambray shirts.

stop the press. I went to the uniglo site and found that their chambray shirts are currently $29 and have been revised size wise. I believe what the now offer is the dreaded "relaxed" fit, ie: wide bodied, and droop over shoulders. the new and improved version. as is often the case, the new and improved version is a euphemism for we fucked up the perfectly fine version for the sake of "new".
