What are the names of some trusted places where I can purchase a WW2 bomber jacket? I am interested in that sort of thing and assumed that this was the best place to ask.
Cheers,
-Dan

Sorry, I did not mean to word it like an advert, I just do not want to be scammed or anything. I will take into account what you have said. What do you mean by 'posting rights'?
Cheers,
Dan

I believe you need a certain number of posts before being able to post in the buying and selling section, or at least that used to be the case.
What sort of jacket are you after as ' bomber jacket' is a very broad term.

With very few exceptions you are at one of the most trusted places you’ll find for buying jackets or whatever is being offered for sale . However, on very rare occasions we do have an assclown or two who tries to pull a scam, but they are quickly called out by the rest of us as we try and police our own ranks . That’s one of the reasons for the posting requirements. If there’s something you’re looking for, simply post your needs in the appropriate section and if it’s available for sale you’ll be contacted . You should also take some time to review old posts in the For Sale Section, as many of the jackets offered for sale are still available. Good Luck with your search .

“Bomber jacket” is a term that is really too vague. To figure out what style of *flight jacket* you like the most, I suggest you to do a small research of the following type of US fight jackets (the most popular):
- G-1
- A-2
- B-3
- D-1
- B-6
- B-10
- B-15
- MA-1
After that we will probably be able to help you out to find a seller.

Anyhoo, the gold standard/ Rolls Royce would be your Good Wear jackets, Mercedes level Eastman and Aero, with a good entry level (or better) and every day beater being Five Star.

Nicely stated. I'd put Bill Kelso and Platon at the Mercedes level Otter mentioned

I dont know what you mean by 'Pall of fturk'

fturk is a member who joined recently, was unhappy with the feedback we gave her, and has since been behaving obnoxiously. Otter was asking if you were a secondary account created by her to find other ways to create trouble.

My advice is, first decide what you want. Bomber jacket covers a lot of ground from this (Air Force A-2 jacket):

to this (Navy style intermediate flight jacket):

to this (ok, only technically):

And everything in between.

Welcome, while you're in your search, I would strongly recommend (if you already haven't) getting some knowledge on sizing of jackets.
Rulle #1 - do NOT buy based on tag size. Tags literally mean squat, sans maybe a ballpark of what to expect.
If you have jackets now, take note of the type (lined, unlined, slim fit, used for layers, etc) and measure them lying flat on a bed or table (or floor). Keep those numbers handy and use for a guideline on the jackets that interest you.
There's a "how to measure" guide here somewhere, and I'd get well acquainted with that process! Else you multiply your angst by 100x when buying said jacket(s)!!!

Good luck!

DO NOT USE A COMPANY CALLED
‘HEADWIND MFG’
Sorry to bring this up again, but has he still not gotten in touch/refunded you? Absolutely unbelievable if so. I just thought about it as I've long been after a 40's USN Conmar zipper, and he's started selling repros of them on eBay for $85! I'm staying clear, but just flagging that he's still active.

As far as I can tell , he hasn’t posted on this forum since July of 2021. It is alleged that there are at least two people on this forum who have paid for jackets and have not received them.
E Caveat Emptor!

Yeah and he tried all sorts of dirty tricks on you too Burt.

You'd have to be completely hatstand to give your hard earned to Headwind now. Top of the not to be trusted list.
