I can't find if these pictures were shared here before, I've found them searching info about the M422-A jacket, and this pub mood feels great ! Any idea of what type of jacket the boys are wearing? Seems like one of them has a patch but I can't see it well.

Yup, it's USMC VMF(N)-513 otherwise known as the Flying Nightmares based out of K-1 (Pusan) Korea. They flew night combat in F4U-5N and F7F Tigercats and made aviation history having the first radar kill of an enemy jet fighter. Depending on when the photo was taken they're probably rocking 55J14's but there was still a lot of WWII surplus being used, so maybe an M422a to two!

From the WWII colour photos FB group..

December 1943, Gunner Lyle Enright, enlisting exactly one month after the war was declared and sailed from Canada as a motorcycle-dispatch rider with Canada’s First Division, came home for the holidays.

Four hundred and fifty soldiers with five years overseas service arrived in Canada just in time for Christmas.

Troops in Italy were included in the 30 day home leave program.

The Red Devils from the 1st Canadian Division wish you a safe Leave!
