What jacket(s) are you wearing at the moment?

Cool jacket, Burt.
Something you don't see very often. I always liked the idea of a "field modified" CBI A-2, and actually did order one from AERO...maybe 15 years ago...

Top notch jacket, but the mouton at that time was a shade like... ...long dead, bleached out salmon. A real eye sore, so I returned it.

Yours looks either real plushy or as if AERO has actually added the fur on top of the full two-piece collar? Ken told me once that this was actually the way the guys in the field would have done it....the jacket I ordered had the upper part of the collar replaced, so the whole construction was thinner and more comfortable to wear.

Hi Ties
Thanks for your kind words .
The collar on this Aero is not the 2 piece collar of a normal A2. As you mentioned this would have been the way that a CBI A2 with a mouton collar would have been made in theater . This jacket has the same type of one piece leather backing that your jacket had, the difference being that the mouton used for this jacket was very thick and dense which gives the collar a firmness similar to a 2 piece collar . Here’s some photos for discussion purposes . You can see the thickness of the mouton . Aero did a nice job with it .
Cheers

Newly arrived Toys McCoy B3 courtesy of Mr Lever of this Parish on an exciting trip out in the snow. I say exciting, I mean "to the post box" but one gets ones kicks where one can these days ... mind you the Toys is just that and really comfortable. Posting cards to keep family spirits up?
Maybe less so but good to get out nonetheless.

Sun's just coming out in London after a morning of sleet then rain, so like Lord Flashheart and it's not that cold I'm going to take the opportunity to walk to the Post Office in a jacket I picked up in Frankfurt flea market back in the '70s when working there for a year. I also bought and still have a long grey leather 1930s/40s overcoat there. I really liked the quality of the German leather clothing, lovely woolen linings (most English bikertype jackets of the '50s had cheap looking nylon linings) and i love the detailing, contrast piping on this jacket.
