A B3 from Aero takes 16 weeks...

I'm slowly getting sucked in a B3 addiction after seeing so many photo's of all the great members here posting their pride and joy that I decided to look a bit around to see what is out there. Yesterday I found the Aero company in Scotland and their redskin shearling B3 and this one attracks me the most. I decided to sent them an email. And now comes the big dissappointment: I have to wait 16 weeks for this B3 to arrive on my doorstep!?
Sorry but winter will be over then in Amsterdam....
How in earths name is it possible that one has to wait for so long? Is this a covid effect? Is it a really small company? Is Eastman any better? And last but not least: Are there any manufactures out there who can deliver a similar B3 for the same price but with a much more acceptable delivery time(month, six weeks at the most?)

Any other members experiencing this same issue?

Much obliged.

Patience is the virtue when it comes to ordering higher end leather jackets. At least that has been my case with repairs, brand new orders, etc. Planning ahead became part of of my plan. Yeah, I want B-3 and a M-445a maybe ANJ-3. Working on it for years now. It's more than "you get what you pay for.' It's the thrill of anticipation and the dreadful wait. The whole experience and sometimes the disappointment. Welcome aboard. Oh, always looking at the pre-owned market too. Want to talk disappointments. Not always though. It's a gamble.

Pre-owned is probably your best bet if you want to avoid paying through the nose. A few B-3s usually come up for sale on the VLJ's sale section every year. You just need to make sure you know exactly what size you need and wait on it. In terms of makers, I'll echo Silver Surfer and tell you that Eastman's jackets are top rate.

Sorry if I came across as a bit aloof as that was not the point. I still can't figure out Aero or Eastman and the opinion here favors Eastman. Getting into the which contract is a whole different deal with a lot of personal preference.

I wish you all the best finding or ordering a B-3, no easy task at least for me. Big bucks but worth it. For many of us it's the trill of the chase. Enjoy the ride.

Try ordering a Goodwear if you think 16 weeks is a long time. You won’t get a better jacket, but you’ll wait a Hell of a lot longer than 16 weeks-which will only put you in about February, and I’m pretty sure that’ll still give you plenty of cold weather in Amsterdam to wear it. And if Winter is over, so what? The thing will probably outlast you, there’s always next Winter, and many more to come. Personally, nice though they are, I don’t believe ELC are nice enough to justify all the extra bucks. IMHO they’ve got into the realms of charging what they can get away with, and good luck to them, but I don’t think their B-3 is better than Aero’s to the tune of £500. I’ve had an Aero B-3 for years, and have no complaints whatsoever.

when I go to the size chart of Eastman, no size is suitable for a 190 cm length/81 kg weight/100cm chest, so I'm reluctant to go pre owned.

Maybe these ones may fit.
No waiting except for the mailman.
According to the invoice an ELC 46”.
and for the Aero a large 44”

Put it on a credit card. The World could fall into freefall after the US election and you will have something to keep you warm during the Apocalypse?
hahaha now I' totally convinced what to do! great humor..

This is why I very rarely buy new, unless its a one off jacket.
I understand that the shops in the far east place big orders for jackets so they come first.
But I'm a guy with extreme measurements. 6 foot tall, so in general my fear Is that the jacket will be to short..

Extra bucks? Get a B-3 from 'discountfootwear' on eBay at the discounted rate for around $1300 plus shipping!

I'm afraid it will be more than 16 weeks. At the moment, Aero does not guarantee times. My crosszip should take 10-12 weeks. now is week 15 and I think it will take a while. Due to the virus, I waited 9 months for my shearling.
