Russet isn't all that horrible either, this (part made) A-2 has just been finished, I'll try to get a pic of the full jacket later

Well first off jerky is not nearly as good as biltong ;)

Sorry for the joke, I'll be serious now...

I believe Aero's "jerky" hides are those that feature strong and pronounced graining.
Like 50cal from ELC right? Same purpose more or less

No I don't think so. The 50 cal ones are what ELC call "Time Worn", a fancy name for the fact they've been "tastefully" distressed.

Aero's jerky HH are hides that have a lot of grain and which is very pronounced.
Now i understood :) thanks!

I'm seen both the jerky and the 50 cal up close. The jerky is really nice stuff, the top coat tends to wear at the high points on it to reveal the underlying colour - seriously nice leather. My old boss had a Time Worn A-2 that he picked up at Duxford, nice but I'd rather "distress" a jacket myself with real wear. This is obviously subjective but I liked the jerky better.

By the photos Ken posted here, it really looks nice! I love the wrinkles too on a leather. Would be nice if he could send me some little samples in different colours of the Jerky one :)))

Just ask Serghei, Aero are always happy to send leather samples. Jerky is probably one of the most forgotten about leathers. Everybody is so busy harping on about Shinki, Italian fancy pants this and that, and that jerky stuff flies under the radar. The stuff I saw in person was beautiful leather and great for an A-2. I think Cocker here has an A-2 in Aero's jerky so you could do a shout out to him and see if he can post some snaps if a search here at VLJ doesn't reveal anything.

Seek and you shall be rewarded,,
This was expertly put together by Edith before the shit kicked off,,I went through all the choices for this jacket and jerky won out by a mile,
Get it wear it and feel it conform to your shape ,keep your shinki, oil pull, victory ,etc.
I also have a mid weight halfbelt made with a batch of mid weight seal horsehide & haven’t seen that for a while,,great stuff.but I’m talking from 10 years or so .
