Cockpit’s nylon B-15 z2213

Hello everyone, I’m a new member.
I fell in love for the B-15 jacket from Pike Brothers, but it seems that they sold out. Since I couldn’t found another replica of the first gen B-15 of my size (Not even Bob Dong or Bronson), I decided to go for Cockpit’s Nylon B-15 z2213; usually I go for size 38-40 M, but, when I send them my measurements, they suggested me to buy a 36 S.
I’m not sure which one to pick, if anyone here has a Cockpit B-15 In size S or M could you please write me down the jacket’s measurements? I’m 175 cm tall (5’ 9”) and I weight 68 kg (150 lb) could you please also write down your body size and height to compare and maybe add a picture of how I fits you?
Thank you for your attention, sorry for my eventually bad English.
Best regards, Federico.

Hi Saint-ex and thank you for your reply.
Actually I did heard about Cockpit’s over sizing (like many others American manufacturers) but I didn’t expect it to be that much!

Hi Federico,

Welcome! I don't have a Cockpit B-15, but I do have one of their Gov issue WWII A-2s, and have had a few of their G-1s.
Sizing with Cockpit is 'weird'. All their patterns are short, despite the size label.

I am 5'10, 158/ 72kgs and usually wear a 40 or 42 in A-2s, G-1s and B-10s - My Cockpit A-2 is a 36 LONG and fits well.
My Cockpit G-1s have been size 40, although the Top Gun Heroes G-1 I tried was a 42. I would assume you would a size down from me.

Ok, none of this helps much.

What about holding on for Bronson's B-15 that is supposed to be released this month. Why not email them and ask? I think its supposed to be released later this month along with there B-10.
That would be my humble suggestion.
Many here have had their B-10s (I am sure one or two have had their B-15 also) and its a great little jacket.

Cheers

Hello Brettafett, and thank you very much for your reply, you really helped me understanding that Cockpit has their sizes all over the place, maybe it’s better if I go to their nearer shop, when I have some time (3-4 hours by car from here) and try the jackets before making some big mistakes.
But if Bronson is going to release a B-15 I’ll wait to see it, since it was my second choice from the beginning (the first being Pike brothers), I already read some very good reviews here of Bronson and Bob Dong jackets, I already own a Buzz Rickson B10 and I’m more familiar with Asian sizes than American’s.
Thank you again and have a good day.
Federico

Would be good to hear what you discover and some pics of the jacket, once you get one!
I’ll gladly do that, if I get one, to avoid these dilemmas in the future!
Even some pictures, since I couldn’t find even those, at least not taken by the cockpit salers

@FreddyF9 where are you from ?

Sizing with Cockpit is 'weird'.
Weird is the right word.

One year ago, I sent an email to Cockpit USA to ask what could be the right size with my numbers for their 40th anniversary A-2.
Their answer was a size 52 ou 50. After I had the opportunity to try the 21st century pattern and I fit a 44 well, I ask them, are you sure about the 50/52 ? And they told me with the WWII fit, 46 should be ok.
What a gap.

Yes, I have had email conversations with them.
Their patterns were 'doctored' years ago, I assume to make them more wearable for the average modern person.

I’m from Italy, I also sent to Cockpit an email asking the measurements of their jacket, they answered me saying that they couldn’t send me their specs because of copyright reasons.

Just as a heads up, the Bronson one that’s being released is actually the B-15A. Nearly identical to the B-15, but not quite the same. Just thought I’d point that out in case it matters to you.

I like the B-15A, classic WWII feel.

That’s a very big size medium. The measurements are more like those of a large or X-Parge.
