A Poor Mans L-2b ..... (which actually isn’t bad)

My Jinruishi L-2b arrived.

Didn’t know what to expect but went on the advice of @B-Man2...

Wow. Really impressed. The fit S is perfect the cuffs and stitching is good quality. What is difficult to get across is the feel of the nylon which feels really robust and strong density. The colour is an amazing midnight blue. I have never seen let alone felt a real L-2b but this feels like it could have been issued to a jet pilot. I was concerned because I could not afford BR and didn’t go with the Bronson( I ordered the Ma1 instead) and went with the unheard of Jinrushi. However really happy and will get the olive next pay day. Thankyou @B-man2

Man oh man .... I was sweating this:rolleyes:
You never know how someone is going to like something you recommended to them and I’m always afraid I might give a guy bad advise. I’m so very glad you like it . I can tell you I had a Buzz and for the money this one isn’t bad at all . Give it a try in chilly weather with a jumper under it and I think you’ll even like it more. It really does match an A2 for keeping the cold out . Great News!!:)

Burt, I contacted the seller about the correct pocket positioning. He was really positive and said the photos of the BR Ma-1/L-2b that I sent would help to correct. Jinrushi seem to be slightly lower than BR, what are your thoughts...?
They will be doing a new run of M-a1’s for winter...

I agree with you on the pocket positioning but I think if they are looking to upgrade the jacket, the first thing they should do is switch the zip to a right hand pull one. Other than those things, the jacket really is pretty nice for the money. The Buzz is better but that $450.00 price tag for what is essentially a nylon wind breaker is a no go for me.

Tried a BR L-2b at the last ELC pop-up. I loved it. Didn't want to take it off. Almost walked out with it... Will be looking at this...

Hi Guys
Initially I ordered a XXL Jinruishi L-2B thinking that the Chinese sizing would run small . When I received the jacket it was loose with extra room in the body area . I sold it and ordered an XL which fit much nicer . For info purposes I’m 6’1” and 220lbs . I hope that helps out with your selections .
Cheers

Great! Seems like XL is the way to go for me. How would you compare it to “the real deal” considering... thickness, I guess? I understand it’s supposed to be lighter than say a ma-1. But looking around it feels like they skipped a layer of lining or padding on this, compared to an original?

Just a tiny bit scared it will feel to “flimsy”

This jacket can’t be compared to an MA-1. It’s more of a wind breaker . It has no lining other than a double thick nylon lining . If you want a cold weather jacket I’d suggest the MA-1 .

I know the MA-1 is for colder weather, and is not what I’m looking for :)

I have never seen a real L-2 jacket but looking at pictures, the original do look a bit thicker than this “Jinruishi”

Or maybe I’m just imagining things :)

Certainly getting my monies worth out of my Alpha ‘Vintage’ MA-1 at present, I’d be interested in how big those Chinese L-2 jackets come up in the chest and shoulders.

Anyone have an opinion on the Bronson L2b’s? They LOOK great but..... would welcome another's thoughts/experience!

Everything I’ve ever bought from Bronson has been good quality craftsmanship . I don’t think you will be disappointed with this jacket. If they made one in my size I would buy it.
