The old but still valid moto...“ Fly with the Eagle... or crash with the chicken”... Amway1975...;)
1600 Euro is not that deep if these jackets are as good as you say.

Do you have a link to a website?

Pilot posted that the French artisan is not accepting new orders and is retiring when the backlog of orders are completed.

"Just got this: the little French artisan will not take orders anymore... apparently too busy with finishing jackets for “ running orders/customers “...
...”Will retire end of 2020...early 2021... after all current orders have been delivered and completed....” Stocks sold to collectors...
Thx. a to all... stay healthy and safe."

Not my photos these are from the fedora lounge when the artisan used to post there, they show the French artisans jackets correct style linings, chrome plated buckle, arm linings, zips and cut.
The best looking leather jacket ever worn on a cockpit, style wise nothing comes close but everyone has their own tastes. and if the Luftwaffe association puts some off you could just as well call it a marquis jacket.
The vast majority of these where worn by Frenchman not Germans.
Pilot have you ever seen ads from the 30s or 40s for these in old French newspapers or magazines.

This Franch artisan jacket has German rather than the French buttons which is period correct.

Thx for posting and asking.
Never saw adds, but have several original pre 1945 Hartmann’s... some with all German Luftwaffe attributes like shoulder boards, breast eagle, buttons... etc..some without.
I also bought a few stock/ try-on jackets from this Artisan and will resell more for sure, after patterning them:)

Brice.
I wonder if there are any French jacket makers, other than the fellow you told us about, who make accurate repro Cyclist jackets in France. I can’t believe that there was only one fellow.

Never saw one, at least producing an accurate repro. Chapal did one a few years ago for approx 2800 Euro...
They make lookalike A-2 , G-1, Irvins and B-3’s though...
Check their prices :)

See the japanese shinki HH grain...

A stunning jacket . It’s a shame that others in France aren’t taking up the challenge of producing a quality jacket like this, particularly since it was so popular in the past .

Sweet....you are so lucky! May I ask, what are the metal buckles made from? And did you say at one point that you had leftover parts? Like maybe some buckles?
