That looks really great, Thomas! To be honest, I kind of like the "bluewall" tires. :) It gives a nice contrast against the white fenders (mudguards). I'm sure the whitewalls will look pretty sweet too. ;)

If you don't mind my asking: what color is the motorcycle next to this one? The one with the fish-tail exhaust. It almost looks like the old thunder blue on the early Triumph 6T motorcycles.

Enjoy riding those gorgeous motorcycles!

An original paint 1960 Lambretta Li150 Series 2 found in a barn in Sicily.
I’ve stripped and rebuilt the engine, added some go-faster parts all with the assistance of a good mate who’s very nifty in that department.
Just needs a UK registration and the carb jetting and it’s all ready to roll.

I had a modern Vespa gets 300 for 3 year before I went back to a motorcycle (Honda nc750x) loved it
Especially for zipping around the city. Bought it as an experiment, statistically the majority of the world
Rides motorcycles under 300 ( so I was told as a motorcycle instructor) so I wanted to see it it was enough
And it was within reason, aside from the ego factor of bigger is better the only limitation I found was
It’s not really suitable for large open North American Highways especially with the long distance stretches
At 110kms speeds it was near its limit.

In the UK and most of Europe it was part of a Youthculture thing, as teenagers a lot of us were scooterboys in the 1980’s (not mods) and we rode up and down the country to attend rallies, often 100’s of miles, to get drunk with our friends from around the UK.
Now we’ve grown up we do eactly the same except now we travel to Europe as well.
Technology has advanced and engines can be safely tuned and improved to the point where you can sit at 65mph/70mph in relative safety (ie not having to ride with your hand over the clutch in case of a heat seize).
My next project is a 250cc touring engine in a 1958 Series 1 Lambretta that will take me across Europe to Italy, France and Spain.

If I’ve learnt one thing in my 52 years on earth it’s never grow old gracefully

You are so lucky.....I am terrified to get on the highway to go anywhere on my bike. People in Texas are crazy, they don't recognize a person on a cycle. I wish I still had my chopper from back in 1970, back then people thought you were a gang member and moved out of your way. Funny story back when I had sold my chopper and was living near Houston Texas in 1973. My car was a Ford Pinto (don't laugh it was my very first car) back to the story.....I was cruising along I-45 with my 8 track blaring some ZZ Top (I had added a 100 watt power booster and installed 12 inch speakers in the back, 6 inch mids along the door and the tweeter horns under the dash) I was totally jamming not paying attention around me until I hear a knocking on my window. I was startled because I am doing around 60 mph and I see a chopper beside me on the driver's side, then realized I was surrounded by some 50 or more bikers from the notorious Texas Banditos gang. These guys carried guns and shotguns attached to their choppers. The guy motioned me to roll down my window.....I did (I thought I was going to be pounded but nope) He yelled for me to crank it up and I opened all the windows and my moon roof. I did and it was loud....these guys cruised all around me bobbing their heads for the next 30 miles before they gave me the thumbs up and had to turn off the highway. After they moved away to their exit, I then had to take the next off ramp to turn around and drive back 25 miles to my exit. I was afraid to turn off my exit while they surrounded me.

All of the texters are nuts. My wife has been hit three times at STOPLIGHTS sitting there waiting for a green light. One was even an off-duty cop. Riding a bike today is a death warrant here in the states - at least the crowded ones. I really miss riding too. Been doing it since age 12.

Yes, those texters really give me road rage! I am so tempted to get a nerf gun and shoot them! This happens nearly every time I am behind one......there will be a texter ahead that pulls into the left turn dedicated light lane at a 4 way intersection that is too busy with traffic and is backed up to forever. We will be waiting for the green light.....it is always one of these intersections where the line will be 20 cars long and the left turn light will be green for 5 seconds so you have to floor it to make it thru it. Anyway, the texter is first in line....it turns green but they are still sitting there dicking with the texting.....people are antsy and laying on the horns...the texter wakes up but the light is now turning yellow and that texter waddles thru the intersection shooting the finger at us and the rest of us have to sit thru another 10 minutes of f-ing red lights.

I actually spend riding my bike around the block about 10 to 15 times. I am too cluck-cluck to take her out on highways like the big boys do.

Just come back from 5 days tootling about the Peak & Lake Districts and a nip across the border into Scotland
975 miles

I would love to do a road trip in Scotland, I did the north 500 + Islay last year by car. It's been far from my home especially with the motorcycles not particularly comfortable that I have

last week I did a 2200 km loop to the south with the "Route des Grandes Alpes" with some friend.

As my Superbike is not really adapted for this kind of trip I rode my Monster.

That’s it done,,with my aching bones & the Covid restrictions kicking in ,it was decided the something had to go.Have just bought the bmw gs it became obvious that I would be using that far more than the triumph speed triple, thankfully due to it being immaculate it sold easily,,it’s now residing in sunny Cambridge,,sad to see it go,yes but hopefully I will get more use of the two I still have .

I always wanted a Speed Trip. Had a metallic tangerine bike lined up almost unused and it got snatched out from under me. Probably smarter to do what you did and concede the years for more comfort now :)

Never tried a Buell. Seems to be terrific !

It's a very special bike. Very different from the following model XB12
The engine is awesome ! lots of torque and power, lots of character, lots of vibrations. It sounds like a Pratt & Whitney :D It's uncomfortable, it's brutal, I burn my left thigh on the valve cover ... but I love it!
