Aerodrome is Speyer, Germany, awesome Aviation Museum with a breathtaking Space Collection. Charlie Duke was there not too long ago.

Great museum, thanks for pics. Despite the fact that I have visit Germany many times, I never been in this museum. When this global viral madness ends, I'll definitely visit this place.
Once I heard a story from the test pilot about how his crew landed on this short RWY this An-22 which now in the museum’s collection. It was a long time ago, about 20 years ago.

Good morning to all, sorry to be spamming the channel lately, but social distancing seems to be taking a toll on digital restraint. I have a couple of positive things that happened last week. On the very same day arrived, and I tracked this via DHL, my zipper repaired AN-J-4 from ELC. And two garments from AERO. The very last of its kind for now probably. ELC is a 44 and the others a Large.

I love this jacket, so glad ELC did the mending.

I grew up with James Herriot's ALL CREATURES LARGE AND SMALL. And I am an anglophile.

The DEHEN-AERO sweater. It must have been a former return because there are two frayed spots on the lower ribs. Great piece of gear and I sent pictures to my seamstress. It'll be easily mendable. And considering the pressures AERO was under in the last days before the closure I can only say job well done. And I like mended quality equipment, because for me that adds such a personal Touch. Stay well everybody!

They also have a sister museum at Sinsheim, 45 klicks away, if you want to do Air/ Space and ground warfare binging in one day. In Speyer they have the BURAN space shuttle Prototype. And about 600 NASA and space pieces. Speyer.Technik-Museum.de.

Thies, I think that's a cool jacket. Should be easy to wear, too? Is it blanket lined? Scratchy?

Thanks

The patch is an early work of Sean Collins. The jacket is ten years old, and I got it off Ebay... The seller was Barry Lyndon aka Spearhead Militaria aka Godars Inc.

Not sure if they still exist.

Back in the days they were the only option for me to get a budget early model M-41. The jacket is warm, huge for an Asian production, and therefore slightly out of proportion.... The sleeve ends and the waist are rather wide, for example...

Worn with a shirt it is not itchy at all.

Thank you Ties, it's great to sometimes mix up the leathers with some great cloth. A while ago I bought the book I have attached als there are some great air crew clothing combinations, pretty valid to use some items for contemporary life, as you did. Plus, the dimensions don't look too bad on your jacket, I think. And if it's comfy and non-itching, Bäm! Done!

Hi Greg, I will say that my BK's are a bit softer and a bit more pliable by comparison... that Liberty is simply amazing.
But yes, this jacket is breaking in very well... Wearing these interchangeably now.
As for shortening, I would not say so...

currently we are in the minus-Celsius during the nights but as soon as the sun Comes out it gets warm

due to that yesterday no leather but the USN dungarees made by ATF

got the set on their Discount side (pants 'n Shawl-Jumper for 59 bucks each)

top Quality for the Money - correct sizing (even though ATF usually runs biiiig)- just gave the set 2 or 3 rounds in the washer and use it for "around the house duties" to get a somehow worn look

Chambray and watchcap are BRONSON

Boots are Royal Canadian Navy deck-boots
