Not much use in Oz but when it's cold here in the north its the best method to fasten a collar to keen the ears warm. Same set up as the B3....I rest my case !
The house B2 is actually a copy of the Switlik jacket so is quite special. These were made over 15 years ago.
Yip your bang on there John,,i fastened the collar last night as it was blowing a gale,,-4deg,,,got it fastened eventually but by that time my hands were numb and I felt it was putting a strain on the buttons,,probably ok if you were stick thin ,,but anyone with a normal build or a 17plus neck would struggle.my solution that worked a treat, not elegant but effective .that collar is amazing

Good to know that Eastman refuse any repairs to Buzz leather jackets. That's why I sold my belt collar version it needed a new zip.
They have sold B2's in the past.

Must be nice to be able to turn away repairs,,but then I suppose if your making a killing with jacket sales ,past customers looking for customer service are just slowing down production,

I like these B2 jackets, they look like a good toasty jacket for Canadian
Winter days when it’s not quite cold enough for a sheepskin but to cold
To wear a regular leather without a sweater.
What are they usually lined with ?
They look like they are just below the belt in length, around 25 inch mark.

The earlier Buzz jackets are lined with mocquette, later ones, Lost Worlds and The Few versions with wool blanket. They don't work well below freezing.

I believe the mocquette is a silk mix,I personally it find it as warm as my Anj4,,plus it's more comfortable & easier to wear,,the collar is awesome, but it seems I will have no joy asking Eastman to retro fit the buckle neck closure:)
Interesting, I was thinking about that very thing, I am considering the idea of having one
Made by Shawn at fivestar later in the year for next fall and winter, I would have a b3 collar closure
Belt Set up, and perhaps a snap pocket instead of button, not historically correct but I’m not flying in an
Open cockpit plane in the 1930s either and buttons and cold fingers are not a good mix
I would assume for your retrofit idea their should be someone who can install one, a good leather
Taylor should Be able to do it.

If you grab it second hand are you a customer?
Of course you are,,I have five Eastman jackets in my collection,3 of them bought new, should I expect to be refused a repair because I bought 2 nd hand .
Not that my jacket needs a repair,I just think if I was looking for a mod,I would be surprised if a company would turn work away because it was 2nd hand. Was your jacket bought new from them ?
I’m not knocking Eastman,I’ve only ever had good service when I’ve had to deal with them.

If you are paying a reasonable repair charge I would expect that ELC would accommodate your request.

Buying second hand comes with inherent risk. The measurements and overall grain might lead you to believe it is a bargain. There is no telling what has been applied to the hide during its lifetime or immediately before the sales pics were taken?

Or it could just come down to the way you ask ELC to assist you, or whether you are respectful online?

I like to think I’m as respectful online as I am in person,I would fully understand how a company may not be able to take on too much repair work, but I would find it hard to believe a company would refuse a repair purely on the fact it was purchased 2nd hand.

Probably due to the use of glue. I’ve had a couple in here for work & almost all of the seams were glued before, during or after stitching. Makes it a total PIA to remove the old thread & very time consuming digging the leftovers out of the glue.
