Help IDing an original A2.

Hello all. I’m wondering if any of you guys might be able to ID an A2 I am in the process of buying. It has a contract label on it but it appears the label is actually off a B3 and has roughly bee sewn on. I’ve had a look on Acme Depot but have come away none the wiser. Here’s some photos that might assist:-

I can't ID it, too many oddities. The hanger is too high, the big X stitches are missing from one end of the epaulette.

Need more photo's. of the zip puller, sleeves front and back, and jacket as a whole etc.

Thanks for the responses gents. I will add some more photos later today. I’m a wee bit confused by the the comments above tho. Am I doing something out of turn in this thread?

You are okay.

Back in January a formally trust worthy member of the forum decided to play a prank and had a fake jacket made to look like a rare original A2 jacket and posted photo's of it. The bait was taken and started some lively debates.
My how we laughed afterwards. :D

Thanks for the update 2BM. I can assure you that there is no skulduggery going on here and if it does prove to be a fake then it will be news to me too!

Heres some futher photos that may assist identifying it. I did notice that I cant seem to find an Inspectors Stamp in the lining, is this a problem? Lastly and with respect, I would also like to make it clear that I have no agenda in this thread and my names not George, I mearly have the opportunity to buy this jacket for a fairly (to me) substantial amount of cash and I want to be sure what I am buying. If you have concerns about my reasons feel free to PM me to discuss or ignore the thread.

The jacket and patches look distinctly odd.

The jacket needs provenance or proof of authenticity to be of value.

A UV or black light should pick up any man made thread in the patch stitching.

As I understand the wartime organisation troop carrier groups were part of the AAF and not part of an airborne division. Just assigned to whatever task was needed.
