Yes ... from what some have learned from some ELC pop up stores, they plan to have another price increase next year sometime.

ELC seems to be using the same price increase scale as most American medical insurance companies, and university tuition!

Yes, 20 years is a lot. The leather looked in superb shape, with character some would say. The value is in the combination of nice aged leather (not faked) with new hardware (crown) and cloth. It's a win/win, no?

The fact that he was opened to offers, so possibly a deal, made it attractive to me too.

Plenty here would say it's got 'characterless' leather. But I have one of a similar vintage in the same hide and I like the smooth leather. I bought a new Air Comfort a couple of years ago and sent it back. Mainly through other issues with it but partly because the new Warhorse is just too grainy. The fetish for grain has gone OTT nowadays.

Agreed, in part.

It's a mixed of different hides, look again, some smooth and some with mid grain. A bit like some originals slapped together rather fast than fashionable.

Yes but it's smooth compared to the stuff they sell now. And they all have some panels grainer than others. My old RW does.
