Who the heck is Platon? Any good pics of his jackets?

Took me 5 years to be able to afford an original A2 . Thanks to a member on here who was gracious enough to work with me .
Reading the posts about what people pay and my outburst on the C2 sweater thread , I had to stand back and re think what I have paid for some of the gear in my collection . $400-500 for some 70+ year old rubber mask !!! Its your money , you spend it on what you want , but what I despise the most is when its thrown in your face that "x" tells you that your $200 jacket /watch for example , is not as good as their $1000 example.

Now who would do a thing that Carl?;)...

FWIW this is the jacket I got from Platon. I'd have to dig out the images of it fresh out of the box but it was originally seal but is is shown here heavily broken in re-dyed / aged and complete with Catch 22 patch that I bought from Vic / Silver Surfer. No that's not me, that's my son, I am far, far older and a whole lot meaner ;)

Looks outstanding! I remember seeing some of the abuse that you put that jacket under, and it is certainly a testament of the quality and construction...

A couple recent pics of my Platon Dubow. It's a solid jacket just starting to break in.

Looks great! I see you're not afraid to work your pockets. Quite a difference in those and the overall break-in compared to shortly after you received it in this pic:

Gives the pocket flaps that authentic look like I've seen in pics of quite a few originals like this one:

I'm a bit like Grant probably, I like it when the pocket flaps get some creasing and bends going on from use. Some guys seem to never use their A-2 pockets on repros - I suppose because they're afraid of them doing that very thing but I reckon they look all the better if you use them.

I've said it before but I'll say it again, that russet colour of the leather of Grant's one is just f-ing brilliant!
