Hi Thomas
I’m sorry I’m so late replying to this. I have a pair of these boots and I think they’re great .
They are a little on the heavy side but they’re boots and that’s to be expected I guess. They’d be good for riding your bike and once they break in you’ll like them .
Cheers

Hi Thomas

The sizing runs fairly accurately but they are made exactly like the military boots of WWII, which means hard leather interior bottoms. So you may want to consider your size and then figure out how much room you’ll need for a nice comfy insole to soak up the grind on your feet from everyday wear . They are on sale right now and they make them in half sizes . I hope that helps out.
Cheers

If you want an insole, seems appropriate indeed. The IR I tried on were perfect in size 11, but way too big in size 12 though.

Based on the proposal of Burt i will order half a size up - my IRON RANGERS are 11.5 so I will order 12
Thomas
Let me suggest that you contact SMW prior to placing an order and get their opinion on sizing as well just to be on the safe side.

Been trying to contact them, no answer from their side... A bunch of friends ordered USMC uniforms two weeks ago, received them and were very disapointed to find they are way too large for the marked sizes. They've been trying to contact them for more than one week, zero answer too... This is really not good.

I got the owner on the phone coz I wanted to ask for the USN uniform package with the boots.

He talked in German to me and seemed to be a nice guy (on the phone) - I finally decided against the deal coz I already own a couple of chambrays but still I have those boots in mind

They simply look too good in the pics

Same here! I need to replace my fucked up Dr Martens, and they look really good.

Maybe I should give him a call.

Do so and let me know your thoughts ... - I might need to get back to Alabama in about 2 or 3 weeks and he could send those boots there - would safe a bunch of bucks for shipping and eventually customs ...

Thanks for the help Thomas, but if I order them, I'll have them delivered to our hub in JFK and brought back on one of our 5 weekly flights :-D

Hi B-Man,
Can you measure the width of the seam to seam distance [ should be something like 6cm-9cm depend on where you measure it -the width, not the distance per stitch, ie. not ~5mm'] in the insole & compare it against the distance at exactly the same position on the outsole , is it the same ?
seems blake rather than Goodyear to me

Hi everyone
These boots are really looking nice -> but searching on the website of SMW I can't find them? There's a USN package deal @ 340 USD currently and there are USN Boondockers @ 199 a pair but they don't have 1/2 sizes in the shop and the sole / stitching looks different to what B-Man posted. Can someone guide me in the right direction?

Received mine today, and I'm very happy with them! Craftsmanship is top notch, they are reasonably comfortable (no less than the IR I tested, IMO). We'll see on the long run how they hold up!
