Par for the course Steve.

Because we only have one moderator this kind of stuff can hang around for awhile until he turns up.

What staggers me is these twats who post this shit, do they really think I'll click on something they post? If somebody wants to find porn flicks or pirated films they'll probably do it themselves rather than clicking on a link from some random plonker.

Could be automated attacks. There are software measures to counter the crap before it appears but manual removal and blocking is the bane of forum admin & mods.

I've done both "jobs" for years on a few non related but large forums. It's a thankless and endless task.

Be nice to find this dickheads IP and email address and collectively the entire forum membership would start to blitz his site all at once.......I know wishful thinking!!

Report it, and we'll ban them. Got that one cleaned up pretty easily.

I do this daily on several different sites. You guys wouldn't believe what it's like on some of the bigger ones. It's crazy.

Oh yes, you have my sympathies as I do it on a daily basis on other forums too. Software updates are essential.

Especially if you want to stay ahead of the spammers and hackers.

Absolutely. Another layer we use on top of captchas, questions and various software inputs is to make the first few posts mod approval only, it's a bit labour intensive but does sort out any dross that manages to sneak through.
