Bronson B-10

Hi Burt and Thomas,
I just picked up my Bronson B-15A at the post office.
Just wow! Excellent jacket, thank you and Thomas for helping me clarify my size. It suits me perfectly.
Somewhat later I, as promised, will start a thread about it and write in detail my impressions and photos.

How lame is it that Bronson has to list their B-10 on ebay as an Eastman? That alone will keep me from considering a cheap Chinese knock off.

I recieved a surprisingly small pack today :) My Bronson B-10!

The quality is really good, right hand zipper, seamless, matching knits, nice mouton that looks darker than on the inspection photos. Lengths are fine, I can wear it with a sweater, but then it becomes a little snug, especially when reaching forward. But even then the sleeves don't ride up. I'm wondering if I should have gone for a 42. Also, I'm pretty sure it's not THE new model, but a hybrid. The new model looks more faded with a darker mouton collar, would you agree? I will buy one of that and pass this one on, I just have to figure out the sizing. My MA-1 is a 40 and fits well, so is my Chambray shirt, so I guess this is how it's meant to fit?

Bonus: a Navy chambray shirt for around 20 bucks :)

It cannot be the same as this one, can it?

Sweet. Hell, I dunno Greg... I think a 42 would be too big... The shoulders and body look good... I know a 40 would be too short on me ;)
Tbh I think I prefer the collar of the Bob Dong... You could always find some darker vintage mouton and have it replaced.
Just remember what these cost compared to an ELC or BR... Cant be too picky! These are great value for the cash spent.

I don't think it's the same as the 'Type B-10" pic.. Wow, looks totally different than the one I had. The material looks kind of 'thinner', and the color isn't the same. It just doesn't look as well made as my other one, and less 'bulky', which probably means 'less warm'. Since I found that I could have saved $40.00 USD on AliExpress compared to the eBay price I paid , I requested a cancellation /refund, which I received, and am glad that I did for now.

Here's a link to earlier in this thread showing my old Bronson:

I'll just wait to see if indeed the 2018 jacket looks like the one in the 'Type B-10' pic. If not, or sold-out before then, I'll just stick with my Buzz Superior Togs, or wait to see about the BD's when they are available. Despite the length being an inch longer than I'd like, the additional amount of blousing just may work for me..

It feels plenty warm, and I'm happy with the quality, I'd just prefer the new version. Brett, I checked, this has the same chest and shoulder width as your 42 BD. So I guess a 42 BR would be even bigger, and would definitely be to baggy. I'm going to go ahead and order one of the new versions.

Hang in there @Technonut2112 , I just ordered one of the new ones. I’ll soon get an inspection photo, I will share it as soon as I can. Then, when it arrives I will post some comparison shots of the 2.

The color is different because it’s green and yours is khaki/rust. I can’t comment on the thickness, I’ve never touched yours ;)

As for the bulkiness, I was surprised how thick the alpaca was. Maybe it’s not the lack of alpaca that makes it seem less bulky ;)

Thanks.. I'm aware that yours is the green version, it's just an 'odd' looking green compared to the 'Type B-10' pic IMO... It's not the common 'flat' OD green. Direct comparison pics will be even better.

Oh dear, not the rust knit issue again! Is that your take calling it 'fantasy'?
I actually like it but with a BR B10 (yes with rust knits) and 2x MA1's this just looks like a marriage of both!

I was referring to the 'MOD', as I was under the impression that only the B-15 A's were given that treatment in any meaningful #'s.. No, personally, I do not consider the rust knits on a Superior Togs contract 'fantasy'.. I've seen enough of their other military issue jackets with non-conforming colored knits to take BR's word on it that perhaps there were some B-10's out there which sported them.. ;)

I got the new jacket today. The quality is pretty much the same. The collar is darker, although not as dark as I imagined, still, much better than the previous batch. The shell color is a slightly lighter, more faded OD, spot on IMO. The jacket fits better, somehow the lining in the sleeves feel a touch less bulky, maybe that's why. Looking and feeling the linings side by side I don't notice any big difference. Overall I'm 100% happy, the only weak point is the usual shitty zipper, but I couldn't care less for this money :) Now on to patching and stenciling it!

This year's Bronson B-10 with the zipper on the correct side, color, and general appearance, looks like one of the best B-10 repros in it's class IMO. It really does 'look the business'... It definitely appears more fine-tuned than the one I had last year. Makes me not so sad that I moved that one on now. ;)

I'm just afraid they'll make it even better next year (not sure how) and I will itch to get a new one :D For sure I wouldn't be happier with an ELC, but then again, I'm not very obsessed with the details.
