Thanks Burt.
Brett, spot on mano. Thats exactly how I feel when I'm in it.

This may sound odd, but there are some jackets that you wear, and there are other Jackets that make you feel complete when you wear them. You know what I mean, its so comfortable, practical, you become one like. Sounds a bit Jedi'ish but this is one of those jackets. I hate it when Summer starts stretching its legs.

One of those are on my list! Best of both worlds for sure... IF you could have only one jacket and you had to wear it all the time, then what would be more comfortable...

Hey Brett
Hope you don’t mind me jumping in here, but if knowing what I know now, after all of these years of buying a jacket with anticipation and selling it down the road for lack of use or performance., I would choose a well made ANJ-3 for use and comfort over a well made A2 . Much easier to wear with the rear sleeves being ( pleated , vented what’s the proper term here?)
The jacket looks good with everything you wear
( informal wear that is) even dress pants and an open collar shirt. With or with a tie. For me it’s an all around nice wearing jacket. If your talking about fleece jackets then that’s a different story.

Yes, I get you 100%, but the A-2 is still my favourite.
Besides the classy looks, its that bi-swing back and satin liner, so comfortable and practical to boot. The leather collar also makes it more useful as an all-round, all-weather wearer.
I also like the idea on a leather-collared G-1 (like in the 1980s Tuff Turf movie).
On my list. Who to go too, to look for one though...

I must be a little confused here. I always thought that the ANJ-3 was nothing more that an M-442a with a leather collar which replaced the Mouton collar . I’m not sure if there’s much more than a few subtle differences between a G-1 with a leather collar and an ANJ-3 . If I’m off the mark on this please let me know because I’m still learning new things here.

ANJ3 would be my go to jacket if I only had one. For all the reasons Burt mentioned

Burt,

The ANJ3 was meant to a collaboration between army navy jackets. Their were 2 styles the Navy version which to keep it simple was just a m422a with a leather collar; the army version had the bi-swing back half belt but an a2 wind flap design often with epaulettes but Dr H has seen them without as well. Both army navy versions come with or without epaulettes. Their were variances via maker in the pattern but it generally comes down to these 2 types.

I prefer the simplicity of the navy version seems more stylish than the army version but that’s my opinion. I’ve had an original army version by W&G but didn’t feel right to me

Jeremiah, you're going to have to hang onto all those progress photos you took otherwise they might not believe you!

Seriously, that has to been one of the best transformations that someone has done with a jacket on here. I know you work with leather and know what you're doing but for us laypeople that's some seriously impressive work.

I think it's fair to say that you'll be one of the frontrunners to win the competition.
