I couldnt find a better pair for the collection and doubt i could ever improve on these .
So far as i know , these gloves have given us the first known 100% positive ID of a maker of the A10 glove as there were no maker name in the labels of these .

Once shared can never be unshared. But can be ungratefully plagiarised ......

I would love to see the other side. Does it have the roundel decal? A pic of the tag inside would be great as well. Thanks for sharing, what a top shelf collectible.

I do own a pair with the makers name on the label. They appear of period, and label consistent with WWII Government countracts. I have read that the maker name was never on the label in WWII, so I dont know if I have a pair of gloves post war made for the civilian market or not. The maker was in business during WWII but well after as well. I would love to know if my maker was let a contract in WWII. I am at work, but can post the makers name later (I cant remember the name). Sorry for the delay, my daughter is getting married four weeks from today.......in our backyard. Things have been busy. I have never posted a photo on this forum so need to figure it out. In the meantime, my gloves are marked Type A-10 DWG No. 3901563 A.C. Order No. 42-1195-P. Size 9 and at the bottom Illinois Glove Co. All looks legit to me. Anyone have the contractor info and can confirm this company was let a contract in 1942? I will try to play with a photo when I can. Kevin

Kevin , after having another read of your post and referencing your details against other known originals , the DWG No is not the same that im seeing ( maybe a typing error ?) .The DWG number should read 39D1569 ,also the order numbers from what ive researched should be around the 168 prefix, and the lack of PROPERTY AIRFORCE US ARMY on the label lead me to believe that your gloves could be for the post war civilian market , although the ILLINOIS GLOVE Co did have lots of contracts to the US Goverment i can only find one that was AAF specific and that was for Mechanics gloves .
Sorry if this comes as bad news :(
But the devil is in the detail .
Please post pics of the gloves though , it would be good to see them !:)

Thanks Carl, I appreciate the help. I do know the Illinois glove company did serve the civilian market after WWII. Looks like in this case they replicated the WWII style label for this market. I appreciate the help, it is always good to educate ones self. I guess the search for an authentic pair will continue. I will still try to post when I get a chance. They are still a nice pair of gloves and the leather is in great shape. Appears to be a service number written on them as well, dunno may be an attempt to make them look more legit. Kevin

They look absolutely fantastic Carl, my Eastman A10 gloves are a really good match to these NOS originals in both the goatskin and knit colour shade.

Thanks Marv ! Yes , i think ELC and MASH have nailed these for the repro market .
Even my older pair of ELC A10's look the real deal ! Hard to tell them apart from a decent set of originals now ! (Apart from looking at the label )
