Nautica turned out to be the most convenient , the rest watches no longer fly with me.

There are some magnificent watches on display here.
This Rolex GMT 1 has been my daily wearer since 1981. My parents bought it for me for my 18th b'day. It was £350 on sale reduced from £450.
I recently acquired a new in the box Bulova Commemorative. Just a cheapie quartz but better under jacket cuff knits.

I'm on the lookout for a WW2 A11 ...

@ Flightengineer...
Thx for sharing.
Any issues with magnetism ( only with automatic/ mechanical watches) when in the cockpit ?

I didn't notice any problems with the mechanical. Now I use quartz simply because I usually forgot to start the mechanical watches.

Here's my old Avia on an original 2-piece strap. It's a small watch, looks similar to a ww2 hack watch (-ish...) and at £25, a lot cheaper than an A-11, though i'll get a mint A-11 at some point.
Fits nicely under the knits and doesn't catch them.
Personally, i think they are now more a man's watch than those dinner plate watches everyone seems to be wearing these days that can be read from the moon.

and a Gibson LesPaul if I'm not mistaken! :O
Guitars just go better with other cool stuff than my instruments – saxophones. Not that the sax isn't a very manly instrument, or that it doesn't have style, but nothing leather goes with it - except maybe a great old Reunion Blues gig bag...

Here’s one I wish I had an original of, unfortunately this is my repro USN UDT Frogman watch, but looks great with any A2. Just have to lookout for your knits when putting it on or taking it off.

Anyone recommend a simple, decent watch for actually flying with? Require a rotating bezel, but not flight computer nonsense...

Honestly, any watch will do. Wear what you’ll use. You don’t need the rotating bezel either. There was a time when such things mattered but it was for a narrow window of time and for planes none of us fly. If a timeline is important- jot it down and then you only need to remember to look at the clock/watch. Adding a bezel to it just adds a step. I’ve tried it for switching fuel tanks and almost always forgot and missed by minutes.
Just opinion,
Dave
