It's only bulged at the top because the head was too small!

Why not polish the eagle chaps?

I have a DD Flighter that was made to measure and I got an original straight wing eagle for it that I did polish and it looked fantastic. Could do with another polish now, some years later!

Real shame DD stoped making them. Some of his other pieces were on my want list! There was a lovely London maker As I recall with a beautiful label. Would have looked very smart in Officer pink.

I note that's Pilot's cap is wool/felt topped as many indeed were whereas most repros tend to be gabardine, again as many were and easier I suspect to remove the spring that turned it into a crusher, I believe? I've also always thought that was only allowed after 50 missions but suspect that's not true as I'm sure many of the flight jockeys we've seen in pics may have never completed that many!

Some were made of felt, some of wool elastique as far as I know, and most pilots immediately removed the stiffeners, otherwise they couldn't have worn them with their headphones.
