Sleeves

I know its not helpful, but I wish I had your problem... I am always struggling with the opposite, sleeves being too short.

It reminds me of the joke:

In Soviet Russia, an inventor comes up with the idea of shaving machines in the street:
- Veery simple - he explains - the comrade inserts five rubles, puts his face in this hole, and the robot blades will shave him.
- But comrade! People have faces of dyifferent shapes...
- Well...yes...at first...

Guys, A-2s were mass produced military uniforms. I guess about 20% of the wearers had "perfect sleeve length" back in ww2 - they were given the jacket matching their chest size, then lived with whatever sleeve length it had - which depended on the contract, their build, proportions, etc... smaller chubbier guys had long sleeves because they had to go bigger size, tall, skinny folks had short sleeves, because smaller size jackets were shorter. (see Jimmy Stewart).

This being said your jacket looks perfect, Jeremiah. I really doubt that adding or cutting off less than one inch would make any significant difference.

Yeah thanks. Great joke btw. I hate this part of the Game and my OCD on these details don’t help. I have just had a couple of jackets not including that above dubow, which leave areas to be desired in the fit department. And my size is not exactly selling like hot cakes in the re-sale department so if it’s off. . .

I heard this joke from one German collegue in Tegel, whithout "Soviet Russia" - just about the inventor :)

As for the sleeves length , I would keep lenght as is. It seems OK to me.

Well. I pounced. That price was too good to pass up for me. I know BRs aren’t BKs, but it looks good and seems to have more grain than some other BRs I’ve seen.
The seller did not have the best pics measuring it but after talking with them I think it should fit. Just loved the worn in look it already has. The BK jacket will have to wait. I still have the BK Dubow anyway. One day.
When u say BRs are no BKs I'm slightly puzzled I had assumed for past couple of years that Buzz,s were on an even keel with ELC especially the way they are priced new. Ive always liked BKs and just got a painted dubow en route to me so I'll be able to compare them my self .

I mean Bill Kelso, not ELC. Yeah the leather is certainly different. I too have a Bill Kelso I just ordered. Dark seal 1755.
I passed along this BR. Was just a spot too tight in the chest for me.

A bit OT, but still about sleeves: Yesterday I wore my Levi's denim jacket to drive. It has wider shoulders than my A-2, and the sleeves reach down to 1 inch from my knuckles. Yet, when I drive, they ride up more than my A-2. Much more. I just never noticed, because I never cared. After all, it's just a 50 dollar jacket.... Maybe we're so obsessed (me included) with the details and measurements only because we pay an arm and a leg for our A-2s?

There's probably a lot of truth in that ;)
