Lost Worlds B-2

Not meaning to hijack, but just seen this bird in John's postwhich I've never seen before, or at least not from this angle, what is it and who made it and when if anyone knows?

Look at the bottom left corner, there is a slight fold as per the B3 pocket. There is a shadow around the sides if the pocket suggesting it is more than a simple patch sewn on.

an interesting patch on that b-2. designed, and shaped like a wright patch, but with what looks like chinese characters. anyone know what it is?

I'm a little late chiming in here but I agree with your decision to have a few additional belt holes added. I wear my Lost Worlds B-2 for cool/cold weather riding and the extra holes that I added allow me to cinch the waist down tightly.

As John Lever alluded to earlier, the button and loop closure on the collar will be difficult to use when you first get the jacket because the leather will be quite stiff. The pocket button also gave me a bit of trouble when the jacket was new but as the leather breaks in, it will become much easier to use the buttons.

Also, having a pouch-type pocket instead of the flat patch pocket would make it a lot more utilitarian (and more like the originals too!).

while looking at rmj jackets, have a look see at the frewheelers line. super detailed, beautiful and way expensive, and way hard to get hold of unless ya deal directly with a japanese co.

I know dealing directly with JP can be difficult. If you want to party with a FW leather piece, Speedway Sendai is the place to go. The will charge you straight Japanese retail and subtract 8% for the tax. They often have a free shipping promotion, as well.
John Lofgren owns this shop and most of his staff speak English.
I received a FW deerskin vest a couple of months ago that is quite impressive.
I will have to consider what they put out this fall before letting anymore dough go.

I have a 42" chest, 36" waist and the Journeyman is trim but comfortable.
I can wear a typical shirt/sleeveless sweater (or waistcoat) underneath and wear it fastened (or a vest and thick twill shirt); I couldn't wear a thick sweater. I have been told that I could also wear a FW 44" in this style.
On the other hand, the FW Dust Bowl that I have for sale in the classified section runs smaller (it's a trimmer style) and although labelled 42 is more truly a 40-42.
My feeling (based on limited personal experience and a bit of research) is that Freewheelers run a size smaller than tagged.

Thanks man. I don’t have any money now obviously after placing my jacket reservation with Speedway. But it’s nice to know their can be some for sale here in the future. I just feel like if you’re gonna get a jacket if that quality, it should be yours to wear from the start. This will be my second high end jacket I bought new and it just does something to your heart when it’s really yours! My Lost Worlds ANJ4 got a solid daily wear for 5 months and looks fabulous. Wouldn’t be as stoked if I had found it used and probably not fit right.

My LW B-2 was too stiff AND too thick to wear comfortably. I traded it on a Buzz, which was too tight everywhere but the sleeves, but the leather was just the right weight and nicely flexible.

If Stu cared, which i’m sure he doesn’t, i’d say use the 3oz hh, add 2” to the body length to overlap civvy trou, and at least TRY with the neck closures. I got better results with a Tandy snap!
