Question about Eastman Rough Wear

Hi,

I've recently bought an older (but hardly worn) secondhand Eastman Rough Wear 27752 in a size 46.

Shoulders and pit to pit are OK and roomy enough but for some reason the sleeves feel very tight, especially when bending my arms.

Is it because of the (stiff) horsehide not yet worn in or is it the design of the jacket?

How big are your arms? A friend can’t get my Eastman A2 sleeves over his biceps and forearms. So long as you can get your arms into the sleeves and there’s some room for manoeuvre the leather should flex and stretch with wear.

A bit muscular but nothing excessive and my arms will fit in the sleeves. But thanks ! It might be the leather that needs a bit more stretch and flexible

Have similar issues on the wrists...its OK, but quite tight. I only have it on my ELC Roughwear, the Aero and GW Dubow are perfect.

Nice collection. This thread makes me thankful again that I'm period -sized.
Jack,what are your plans? H2O? Careful kneading and stretching might be best. Maybe H2O with wear following? Have you ever noticed this before?

Only my Aero A-2 went through a HWT.

Me too

I've started kneading and stretching the leather and it's actually getting better. I should start wearing it but the weather is not very cooperative at this moment.

If not sufficient enough for me, I will try the water or HWT treatment as well.
